My name is Agata Davies.
I am a Fitness Professional with over 20 years of experience within the industry. It was an exciting journey of various steps; studio instructor (freestyle dance & martial arts, step, spin, the good old aerobics, etc.), fitness conventions presenter, studio and gym manager, course creator, and choreographer of UK bestselling fitness workouts by the Ministry of Sound.
Today, life is much calmer… In a nutshell, I focus on:
- Helping clients find & maintain their strength through Pilates-based exercises via corporate classes at Exos@Google and 1:1 online sessions;
- Keeping my (and others’) cardiovascular systems in tip-top shape by leading the Group Cycling classes at Exos@Google
- Passing on my knowledge, training and assessing aspiring fitness professionals and existing trainers, and teaching and assessing the Fitness National Vocational Qualifications play important roles in my professional life at Train Fitness. This is one way I pass on my extensive experience and guide newcomers on their new road ahead.
- Writing non-fiction books/ journals. Two are done, with more on the way.

This is why I do, what I do:
I found Agata to be a fantastic tutor. She has made the effort to get to know us all and our skills individually. She was really supportive and knowledgeable. Agata was also willing to help with our questions in between the sessions as well as during the course, which I really appreciated. She was very thorough and gave us individual tips and advice, particularly with regard to my teaching style and areas for improvement.

Hi, I just wanted to send a message to say my praises for the tutor I had for my Pilates training weekends, Agata Davies. I’ve just completed my second virtual weekend and have come away feeling so much more confident and comfortable with the whole course, in particular the practical side, all thanks to Agata. Her knowledge for everything is brilliant and she has the patience of a Saint especially when having to do the whole weekend online. I’ve had a great experience and after slightly dreading whether I’m capable of doing this course, Agata has very much put my mind at ease!

What is the meaning behind our work? The value of collective actions cannot be measured, it can however be expressed in words.
In summer of 2017 I spotted a Pilates class on our office gym studio schedule. I tried Pilates once somewhere else and found it boring – mostly lying on the floor, almost not moving and then doing things I couldn’t do because my muscles just wouldn’t hold me 🙂 – seriously? In 2017 in the office gym I was lucky to meet Agata. From the very first session I realized – this here with this trainer is exactly what I need. Not too aerobic, but enough to get my pulse up, very varied, covering all bits and pieces of my body, almost too difficult, but never really. It provided a challenge that left me proud after sessions, sweet fatigue and physical relaxation so needed after workday and constant commutes, and the most important bit – I started to feel strength building inside me. The core that was getting stronger was not just physical, it was mental and emotional too. Along with abs grew my confidence that I can do more than I think, not just physically, but in all areas of my life. In 2018 I broke a leg while skiing. I started physiotherapy and immediately the therapist recommended Pilates. So, I came back to sessions as early as I could and was literally back on my feet in no time. During that period Pilates sessions and Agata’s motivating guidance also helped get rid of that feeling of helplessness that accompanied me when I realized I can’t walk for months! Since then I barely ever missed a week in Pilates and feel that Agata is “my perfect trainer”. With Agata no matter your abilities you feel like you can do it and you actually do it! When your body just is not yet ready to go there, she has an option for that too (the famous Crocodile! I could not even raise a millimetre at the beginning, yet I can hold it up for a minute now). Agata can always find words to keep you going and make you believe in yourself. In lock-down during COVID-19 pandemic one of my main distressing factors at the beginning was that we lost our Pilates sessions, our 2-times-weekly dose of optimism and energy and positive outlook to life. So, when it came back, more often than before, right in my living room, my well-being score jumped. There are days when I don’t feel at my best, yet I still join Agata’s Pilates sessions and do as much as I can because I know the day will feel better.

We are moving forward… working towards our goals.
I’ve been meaning to write to you to tell you how appreciative I am of what you have been able to accomplish. You’ve managed to create a real community that spans three continents, and is composed of people who largely don’t know each other personally, but show up day after day. Why? It isn’t just the physical exercises. Not that the sessions aren’t great – and also the variety you serve up day to day and week to week means that every morning I never know what I’m in store for. It stays fresh. But more than that, I think what people keep coming back for is that feeling of belonging. You used that very word.- “belonging” – a couple of weeks ago on a Tuesday morning, and it has stuck with me. It’s why I always leave my camera on – to accentuate that feeling. But it is because of you that we have that feeling. You make it plain that you care about everyone who is in your session. If I’m not there I know I’ll be missed, and I believe everyone else feels the same way. So thank you, thank you, thank you, and I hope that whatever the next few months have in store for all of us, that this “thing of yours” continues.
